Pudding was rescued on 30th December 2017
Pudding, 8 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 30th December 2017 from Porthkidney beach in Hayle by some members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

This pup was found to be malnourished and underweight with minor wounds to his body.

The pup was taken and treated at one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available at Gweek on 10th January 2018.
Update - 12th February 2018 : When the pup came into the hospital she had yellow diarrhoea, high temperature and was lethargic and not eating well.

Pudding was treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Faecal results showed a high worm burden so wormed and progressed well after a couple of weeks.

Update - 25th February 2018 : Pudding has been moved back down to the nursery pool, he currently weighs 16kgs.

Pudding´s flipper tag number is 352 (green).

Update - 28th March 2018 : On 23rd March 2018 the Animal Care Team noticed that Pudding had lost weight and was looking a little unwell. They have brought him back up to the hospital so he can be kept a closer eye on.

The vet has prescribed a second course of wormer and a long-acting antibiotics. Once Pudding has gained strength and feeling better, he can be moved back to the outside pools.

Pudding Update - 29th April 2018 : Pudding is now in the convalescent pool and putting on weight, he currently weighs 27.5kgs.

Update - 29th May 2018 : Pudding along with Gerry, Nampara, Beta, Chris and Ava were released back into the wild on 17th May 2018 at Porthtowan.
