It´s not just Santa working on Christmas day!

The Cornish Seal Sanctuaries animal care team will be spending their Christmas day caring for their residents and rescued seal pups.

For most of us we can look forward to a lie in, the Boxing Day family fun and of course the hours and hours of Christmas Films that fill your days.

But for the animal care team at the Sanctuary, they will be celebrating their Christmas looking after the resident creatures and also the rescued seal pups that are at the Sanctuary going through rehabilitation.
It's not just Santa working on Christmas day!
It's not just Santa working on Christmas day! This year Tamara, Grace and Megan will be spending their Christmas day at the Sanctuary. The team are coming in early to feed the pups in the hospital and provide all their medical treatment for the day. They also have the regular feeding times for the residents and any treatment that they require.

During December, the Sanctuary had a fundraising event in which guests could purchase a gift or special food treat for any of the residents at the sanctuary, which they then popped in their chosen animals stocking.
The animal care team will be giving out to all the residents these kindly donated gifts, as well some special enrichment and fun for all of the residents so they don´t feel left out at Christmas.

Tamara Cooper, Curator said "We are going to make sure all of our residents and pups get an extra Christmas treat to celebrate with us."

"I quite enjoy working Christmas day, it gives us that quality time to spend with our residents and pups and everyone is in good spirits!"
It's not just Santa working on Christmas day!
It's not just Santa working on Christmas day! "Even though we´re away from our own families, at least we get to spend the day with our Sanctuary family".

So whilst you´re tucking into your Christmas dinner, spare a thought for the team at the Sanctuary, who have traded in their turkey for a very fishy Christmas.
