Sunday 3rd March 2019 - World Wildlife Day
This World Wildlife Day, global marine conservation charity, the SEA LIFE Trust, has officially announced that renowned model and passionate marine enthusiast, Jena Goldsack, will be their first official ambassador.
Jena Goldsack from Europe´s leading model agency, Models 1, has always had a keen interest in marine life since a young age. Jena was born and raised in Cornwall, where experiences of the sea and aquatic animals formed some of Jena´s early memories, sparking her long-standing passion for the marine environment.
In her capacity as the SEA LIFE Trust´s first official ambassador, Jena will be involved with supporting the charity´s wide range of worldwide conservation projects, including its two marine animal sanctuaries, one of which is the world-first Beluga Whale Sanctuary, one of the biggest developments in captive whale and dolphin care and the first of its kind to be created for cetaceans.
Jena has been a long-term supporter of the SEA LIFE Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary, which she visited as a child. At the Sanctuary, vulnerable rescued seal pups receive the expert care they need to return home to the sea.
Jena Goldsack, SEA LIFE Trust ambassador, said: "Growing up in Cornwall, I was introduced to sea life from a very young age. Visiting our local seal sanctuary and being taught what they do was very inspiring for me; it made me truly care for marine wildlife and understand the importance of how we need to protect them. With the SEA LIFE Trust constantly expanding, I hope they can continue to inspire children and young adults who will grow up to care for nature the way this charity does."
The SEA LIFE Trust champions the need for seas which are properly protected, free from plastic pollution, and full of diverse life. This year, as part of its global work, the charity will make ground-breaking steps for previously captive cetaceans by opening the world-first SEA LIFE Trust Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland.
Andy Bool, Head of the SEA LIFE Trust, said: "This World Wildlife Day, we are thrilled to celebrate and formally announce Jena Goldsack as our first global ambassador. Jena is incredibly passionate about the protection of our oceans and marine life and, as our ambassador, will amplify our message
and inspire others to protect our seas. We are very grateful to Jena for her support, and are excited about our partnership."
As the SEA LIFE Trust´s first global ambassador, Jena Goldsack will lend her voice and support to the charity´s important conservation work around the world. You can follow her on: Instagram - @jenagoldsack
