Porcupine was rescued on 20th January 2017
Porcupine, male grey seal pup, was rescued on 20th January 2017 from Porthgwidden beach in St Ives.

The pup was found to be suffering from upper respiratory infection.

Update - 1st March 2017 : As you can see from the photo right, Porcupine is progressing well and is in the outside pool putting on lots of weight before being released back into the wild in the next month or so.

Porcupine´s flipper tag number is 340 (white).

Rehab Pool - photo by John, Paul, Ruth and Maddie Gore Update - 9th April 2017 : Porcupine is in the outside rehab pool with three other rescued pups Racoon, Pangolin and Turkey. These will be released back to the wild in the coming weeks.

Update - 29th April 2017 : This photo of Porcupine with his seal friends in the rehab pool was taken by John, Paul, Ruth and Maddie Gore during their visit on 25th April 2017.
Update - 29th April 2017 : Porcupine along with Shark, Octopus, Goose, Pangolin and Bat were released back into the wild on 26th April 2017 at Gwithian beach. Seal Release - 25th April 2017
