Molly Ringwald was rescued on 18th December 2018
Molly Ringwald, 9 weeks old female seal pup, was rescued on 18th December 2018 from Porthoustock by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Medics.

This pup was found with fishing line around her neck. Luckily this had not begun to cut into her skin. She also had wounds to her back and flippers.

The pup was taken and treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories at one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available a few days later at Gweek.

Molly Ringwald Update - 1st January 2019 : Molly Ringwald is now in the outside pools for her final stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other rescued seal pups.

This photo left was taken on 31st December 2018 in the outside nursery pool and above was taken in the hospital on 27th December 2018. She currently weighs 18kgs.

Molly Ringwald´s flipper tag ID number is 340 (red).
