Madonna was rescued on 15th September 2018
Madonna, one week old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 15th September 2018 from rocks near Coastguard Station in St Ives by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Medics.

This pup had multiple superficial puncture wounds and loose teeth which were removed by the vet in the seal hospital.

Madonna Update - 28th October 2018 : Madonna was moved back up to the hospital on 26th October 2018 after spending a few days in the outside nursery pool.

Madonna currently weighs 23kgs.

Flipper tag ID number is 304 (red).

Update - 25th November 2018 : Madonna is now in the convalescent pool for her next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other seals before she is returned to the wild in the next month or so.

Madonna currently weighs 27kgs.

Madonna has completed her rehabilitation and was returned to the wild on 28th December 2018 at Porthtowan beach along with other rescued seal pups, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, Footloose, Brian May, He-Man and Pepsi.
