Jane was rescued on 13th September 2017
Jane, 7 days old whitecoat female pup, was found by members of the public in a cave below the tennis courts at Crackington Haven. They contacted British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) on 13th September 2017.

This pup was found with bite wounds to her rear flippers and had a head injury.

Jane The pup was transported to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for care and rehabilitation. Upon arrival at the seal hospital, a full clinical assessment was carried out. The pup weighed 21.5kgs.

Update - 4th October 2017 : Jane was moved through from her isolation pen to the main hospital on 3rd October 2017.

Update - 20th October 2017 : Jane has sadly passed away on 8th October 2017; it is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough antibodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the Animal Care Team.
