Cyndi Lauper was rescued on 2nd December 2018
Cyndi Lauper, 6-8 weeks old female seal pup, was rescued on 4th December 2018 from Porthmeor beach in St Ives by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Medics. She only weighed 12kgs, very malnourished and some superficial wounds to her flippers.

The pup was taken and treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories at one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available at Gweek on 5th December 2018.

Cyndi Lauper Update - 1st January 2019 : Cyndi Lauper is now in the nursery pool for her next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other seals.

This photo left was taken on 31st December 2018 in the nursery pool and above was taken on 28th December 2018 in the hospital.

Cyndi Lauper´s flipper tag ID number is 333 (red).
Update - 22nd March 2019 : This photo of Cyndi Lauper was taken earlier in the day in the rehabilitation pool before she was released back to the wild.

Seal Release - 19th March 2019 Cyndi Lauper was released back into the wild on 19th March 2019 at Porthtowan beach along with Cher, Pet Shop Boys, Pamela Anderson, Karma Chameleon and Hope.
