Crofty was rescued on 17th December 2017
Crofty, 8 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 17th December 2017 from Port Issac beach by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

This pup was found with wounds to his body.

Crofty was transported to the BDMLR´s temporary seal holding facility for a few days until a pen had become available at Gweek on 21st December 2017.

Update - 28th March 2018 : Here is a photo of Crofty in the convalescent pool just before he was released back into the wild on 26th March 2018.

Crofty weighed 32.5kgs on 20th March 2018.
Crofty
Crofty released back to the wild on 26th March 2018 Crofty along with Alfred, Warleggan, Charlestown, Grambler and Ted were all released at Porthtowan Beach on 26th March 2018. The planned release is a major operation involving several members of the Sanctuary team. The rehabilitation pool was drained, and then each pup was herded into a cage and then transferred to a trailer which was then driven onto the beach to be safely released.
