Carlyon was rescued on 29th December 2017
Members of the public took part in a beach clean at Perranporth beach on 29th December 2017 and thought the seal pup was a black bag being battered around by the sea.

The beach clean team helped save this little exhausted 8 weeks old male seal pup.

Carlyon photo taken on 31st December 2017 The people who found this pup contacted the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team. Dan Jarvis a member of the BDMLR transportated this pup to their overnight holding facility until a hospital pen became available at Gweek the next day.

This pup has been named Carlyon.

Update - 9th January 2018 : Carlyon was moved to the nursery pools and then had to be brought back up to the hospital as she had a fit in the cave.
Update - 12th February 2018 : Carlyon has recovered very quickly with fluids and antibiotics and moved back down to the nursery pool for her next stage of rehabilitation.

Update - 25th February 2018 : Carlyon is now in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation.

Carlyon photo taken on 26th March 2018 Update - 27th March 2018 : Carlyon has completed her rehabilitation and will be released back into the wild soon.

Update - 29th March 2018 : Carylon along with Harmony, Elijah, Holywell, Kynance and Providence, were released back into the wild on 28th March 2018 at Dollar Cove.
