Basset was rescued on 4th October 2017
Basset, 3 weeks old white coat male seal pup, was rescued on 4th October 2017 on a beach in St Ives beach.

This pup had bite marks to his body. Weighed 15kgs.

Update - 22nd October 2017 : Basset is currently on antibiotics for his wounds. The Animal Care Team are working hard to make Basset feel better. He was moved through from the isolation unit to the main hospital on 15th October 2017 but still on treatment.

Update - 30th October 2017 : Basset has made some steady progress and seem much brighter but still on treatment and not eating for himself.
Basset Update - 1st January 2018 : Basset is in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation before he is released back into the wild.

Basset´s flipper tag number is 310 (green).

Update - 25th February 2018 : Basset will be returned to the wild soon.
Update - 29th April 2018 : Basset along with Valentine, Isabel, Towan, Hugh and Leon, were released back into the wild on 23rd April 2018 at Porthtowan beach.
