Halley was rescued on 19th October 2013
Gender : Female

Age at Rescue : 3 days old (whitecoat)

Weight at Rescue : 13 kgs

Reason for rescue : No sign of mum.   Pup was being chased away by other female adult seals. Very underweight.

Halley still has umbilicus so is very young, and very underweight!

Halley is currently being fed multi-milk which is a milk substitute to replace mums milk. This pup needs care 24 hours around the clock with night feeds every 4 hours whilst she is in the hospital!

Update - 26th October 2013 : The Animal Care Team are helping Halley to put on weight with milk but she has no injuries so she should progress quickly!

Update - 16th November 2013 : Halley has now been moved down to the outside nursery pool. Her eye ulcer cleared up quickly. She is currently learning to feed here by watching the others. Currently weighs 16.5kgs.
Halley´s flipper tag number is 161 (orange).

Halley Update - 22nd November 2013 : Halley is still noisy as ever and is not eating fish for herself yet!

Update - 2nd December 2013 : This photo (left) is of Dan, a member of the Animal Care Team, feeding Halley on 1st December 2013 in the nursery pool 2.

Update - 8th December 2013 : Halley is still not eating for herself. She is now in nursery pool 3 with Cassie and Crater. Emma, a member of the Animal Care Team, thinks Crater has been showing Halley how it´s done.
Update - 29th December 2013 : Halley is currently in the nursery pool 4 with another rescued seal pup Soyuz. Halley´s flipper tag number is 161 (orange).

Update - 29th May 2014 : Halley is eating well and putting on lots of weight.
Update - 5th July 2014 : Halley along with Supernova were returned to the wild on 4th July 2014 at Gwithian.
