Alien was rescued on 5th December 2013
This 5 weeks old male grey seal pup was rescued by the Cornish Seal Sanctuary staff, Dan, Wayne and Mark, on 5th December 2013 from Fishing Cove at Gunwalloe. The pup was found to be skinny and snappy, he also has quite a bit wrong with him.

A large wound on his chest and a badly swollen front left and rear left flippers. He has had a bad infection in his left eye, and the animal care team are not sure whether the pup will have vision in it, but he has good vision in his right eye, so will be released back to the wild once he completes the rehabilitation.

Alien Upon arrival at the Seal Sanctuary´s hospital, he was put into isolation pen number 1 where a full clinical assessment was carried out by members of the Animal Care Team.

He has been prescribed antibiotics for his eye infection and wounds to his body. This pup is currently being forced-fed fish. He has been named Alien.
Update - 29th December 2013 : Photo right of Alien was taken on 28th December 2013 in hospital pen number 4, he currently weighs 18kgs.

Alien (photo right) was moved down to the outside nursery pool on 29th December 2013.

Convalescent pool Update - 19th January 2014 : Alien has been moved back into the hospital for a few days so that the Animal Care Team can keep an closer eye on him.

Alien´s flipper tag number is 197 (orange).

Update - 25th February 2014 : Alien is in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation and learning how to compete for fish during feeding time.

Update - 29th May 2014 : Alien is eating well and putting on lots of weight.
Update - 16th June 2014 : Alien along with Star, Isis and Cupid were released back to the wild
on 12th June 2014 at Gunwalloe.
