New face joins Wally at the Gweek Seal Sanctuary

Siblu holiday’s Suki the Seal joins in 50th birthday celebrations

Wally the Walrus, the National Seal Sanctuary’s popular mascot, was over the moon during the Sanctuary’s 50th anniversary celebrations after a first date with his new best friend, Suki the Seal.

Suki, a present to National Seal Sanctuary from family holiday specialist Siblu holidays, met Wally for the first time under the approving gaze of families who were helping the team celebrate a half century of seal rescue in Cornwall.

Suki and Wally The two mascots’ first meeting was all smiles, as Wally presented Suki with a single red rose. It’s a union that National Seal Sanctuary’s Press Officer Rachel Vine thinks will entertain visitors for a long time: “Wally has been incredibly excited about the arrival of Suki, so we know they’ll make a fantastic team entertaining visitors to Gweek.

“The meeting was a great way to start an exciting week of celebration at National Seal Sanctuary, as we mark our 50th birthday.”
Jo Taylor, Siblu Holidays Marketing Manager said: “National Seal Sanctuary does a fantastic job in rescuing and rehabilitating seals. We are delighted to join in with their 50 year celebrations and hope the team, and all the families who visit Gweek, enjoy our present.”
